Fundamentals of Guitaring

Or

The art of percussive melody

The guitar and all its families

The most sublime of all instruments

The only instrument which can be played

Sitting or standing

Moving or staying still

While talking or not talking

In which limbs meet their desired purpose

And both percussion and melody fuse into one

For first

The hands made the guitar

And then

The hands played the guitar

And

The body danced

And

The voice sang

To

The tunes

The guitar made

Made

With wood

Borrowed from the tree

With metal

Borrowed from the earth

With oil

Borrowed from the soil

Forged

To be held

Close to the body

To Feel

The Vibrations

Of the

Percussive hand

Striking the chords

Tempered

By the hand

Holding the melody

Six Levels

Many Flavors

The hand which strikes the chords

Carries the steps which the performance takes

And

The size of each step

The hand which tempers the melody

Determines the direction of each step

And

Its length

Knowing this

One can go in any direction

As one holds the ability to

Choose

The step

The size of the step

The length of the step

And

The direction where to go

One can

Choose

To go from one point to the next

Almost instantaneously

Or

Hear an amazing story on the way

For while

The Artist narrates her own story

The Audience hears his own story

Knowing this

All compositions are understood

All patterns are discerned

Knowing this

The Artist knows

What to perform

Spontaneity is the key

Anything is possible

When both work as one

The Artist

Chooses the instrument

Which sounds good to

The Artist

There is no other choice

The Artist

Performs that which

Sounds good to

The Artist

Any other method

Is burdened

With Expectations

In this,

Spontaneity is found
